From April 2025 most planning application fees will increase by 100% or more.
The biggest impact will be for change of use with prior approval under Class MA, Class Q and householder applications.
To beat the hike applicants are advised to submit applications before the 1st April 2025.
As a reminder the government have revoked the rights to free resubmissions. This came into force from December 2023.

Householder Applications The key changes coming into force.
Householder applications including enlargement, improvements or alterations to a single dwelling will increase from £258 to a staggering £528.
For 2 or more dwellings involving enlargement or improvements the fees increase from £509 to £1,043.
The fees for small scale works including outbuildings, porches, gates, fences are fixed at £258.
